2018 was a great year for TQUK. We savoured our successes, learned from our setbacks, but all in all, we saw impressive growth in all areas.

Since 2019 is here, we wanted to share some of our biggest moments from 2018 to give you an idea of how we’ve grown, and will keep growing into the future.

1. GDPR

Every list of 'Massive Moments' must begin with GDPR!

As of 25th May 2018, The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect after being passed by the European Parliament, Council of the European Union and the European Commission. The implementation of GDPR was a long overdue opportunity for TQUK to strengthen various data protection measures for our centres and learners. We also launched our very successful StayTQUK campaign to maintain vital communication links with our centres.

2. TQUK Partners with The Skills Network

One of the best parts of looking back on a year gone by is seeing how many new friends you made.

On 1st June, TQUK was delighted to announce a new partnership with The Skills Network, one of the UK’s most successful providers of online learning solutions. The partnership brought together the fastest-growing Awarding Organisation in the UK and one of the UK’s largest training providers to deliver a range of qualifications for learners all over the country.

Popular qualifications offered by The Skills Network include the TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading (RQF), the TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism (RQF) and the and TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (RQF).

3. New Staff Starts

2018 positively transformed the face of TQUK.

We levelled up our Quality Team with the addition of Joanne Emmerson and Matthew Whitton, who brought lots of experience and insight from their past job roles at centres. The Creative Team was also bolstered by the addition of Thomas Concannon and Samuel Rossiter, bringing our branding to the next level. The Client Relationship Team also gained the up-and-coming Samuel Concannon, while Business Support nailed down Sven Wittenvrongel and Nathan Carrington.

But by far the biggest hire was Danielle Fallon, who brought years of experience from her time at NCFE to the table at TQUK.

We’re delighted to have these excellent people working with us, as they bring TQUK forwardl. If you’re interested in learning more about our crew, why not say hi to the whole team?

4. We Continued to Expand into New Qualification Development Areas

Our Qualifications Team is always on the cutting edge, creating new and in-demand qualifications in a variety of sectors. In 2018, we expanded our reach and developed qualifications in a range of new areas. Prime among these new qualifications we developed was in drone piloting, aromatherapy and weight training, among others.

5. TQUK MENA Launches

TQUK got one step closer to world domination with the launch of TQUK MENA, our new international business hub based in Dubai, with a slick new office to boot!

TQUK MENA will be servicing all our centres located in the Middle East and North Africa and is supported by an amazing team. We’re very excited to start working with amazing centres in this part of the world!

Business trips to the Middle East, anyone? Yes, please!

6. Certificate Redesign

New_Certificate_Design.jpg

TQUK has come a long way since we first launched five years ago. In that time, we’ve become the fastest growing Awarding Organisation in the UK. As a result, we wanted a certificate that reflected how far we’ve come and represented where we want to go.

So, on 25th June, TQUK introduced a new certificate. The new design, inspired by feedback from our centres, is cleaner, more contemporary, and reflected the dynamic, forward-thinking Awarding Organisation we wanted to be.

7. Systems Redesign

This year, we decided to start overhauling our online systems to serve our centres better. The result was progress on several new modules, including our new centre registration portal, Verve Registration and Certification. More changes will be coming soon, so stay tuned to all of our social media feeds to ensure you get the latest news!

8. Adele Retires

This year we were sad to bid farewell to one of TQUK’s founding mothers. Adele Williams, our Qualifications Development Manager since the very beginning, retired in October. Without her, we would not have become the Awarding Organisation we are today. Even though she’ll still be poking her head through the door from time to time, we can honestly say we miss her already!

Here’s a snapshot of Adele’s amazing career.
